Who AAUA considers for admission
For this session, reports from admission sites say AAUA asks that you chose it as your first choice in UTME, and that you scored at least 160. Competitive courses like Medicine and Law ask for more.
You also need five credits including English and Mathematics, and you should have gotten them in not more than two sittings.
These details are from third-party sites, so confirm them on the school's own notice before you pay. If you want to know where you stand, our admission eligibility checker and JAMB score calculator can help.
Screening is done online
AAUA's screening is done on its own portal, putme.aaua.edu.ng, which was still showing as active on the school's website. Reports say the screening fee is ₦2,000, and that there is no physical exam.
You log in with your JAMB registration number, generate an invoice, pay with a card or through Remita, fill the form, upload your documents and print the acknowledgment slip.
That last step matters. Keep the slip. If any problem comes up later, it is your proof that you completed the exercise.
Common mistakes on the screening portal
Most problems are small and avoidable. Avoid them and you will save yourself a lot of stress.
- Using a different name spelling from your JAMB record.
- Paying through an unofficial channel and not getting a receipt.
- Closing the page before you print the acknowledgment slip.
- Leaving the exercise to the last day when the portal is slow.
Slow down while you fill the form. Reading each field takes a few extra minutes, but it protects you from errors that are hard to undo.
Before you submit, look over the whole page one last time.
Documents to have ready before you start
Uploading documents is where most people struggle, usually because the file is too large or the photo is blurry. Prepare these on your phone before you open the portal.
- O'Level result (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB)
- JAMB result slip
- Passport photograph with a plain background
- Birth certificate or age declaration
- Local government identification letter
Scan clearly, keep the files small, and check that names match across all documents. If your NECO or WAEC result has a problem, read what to do if a NECO result is missing a subject before you upload anything.
Our guide on documents for screening and verification explains each one in detail.
How to check your AAUA admission status
Admission is decided on JAMB CAPS, so that is the first place to look. Do not depend on a name sent on WhatsApp.
- Log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng and open Check Admission Status.
- Choose your exam year, enter your registration number and view the result.
- If it says "Admitted", accept the offer on CAPS right away.
- Then follow AAUA's own instructions for fee payment and clearance on its portal.
See how to check and accept admission on the JAMB CAPS portal for screenshots of each step. Do not wait too long, because an offer you ignore can lapse, as we explained in the four-week guide.
Why your name may not show yet
A blank result does not always mean bad news. There are usually ordinary reasons, and you can fix many of them yourself.
- Your O'Level result is not uploaded on CAPS. See our steps for NECO or WAEC.
- AAUA is not your first choice on your JAMB record.
- The school has not reached your batch yet.
- You did not finish the screening steps.
Work through this list in order, and fix what you can. If you cannot find the cause, contact the school through its official email or phone number.
Keep your messages short and include your JAMB registration number.
If AAUA does not admit you this year
Public universities close their lists on 31 October, so do not wait until the last week to decide on a Plan B. You can change your institution or course, as explained in how to change course or institution on JAMB.
You can also explore private universities still admitting and polytechnic ND admission, which stay open longer.
Finally, be careful with anyone who says they can "get you into AAUA" for a fee. Pay only on the school's official payment platform, and keep every receipt.
A checklist for the week you register
Registration is easier when you treat it like a checklist. Before you log in to the AAUA screening portal, make sure that all of these are in place.
- Your JAMB registration number and the phone and email linked to it.
- Clear scans of your documents, in small file sizes.
- Money for the fee, ready on a card or for a bank payment, plus a way to save the receipt.
- A steady network, because a failed upload can force you to start again.
Complete the form in one sitting, print the acknowledgment slip, and save a digital copy as well.
Putting it together
AAUA's online screening saves you the stress of travel, but it depends on you being careful with details. Do the screening properly, check CAPS for your admission, and keep your Plan B in view as 31 October approaches.
