AE-FUNAI Supplementary Admission: Apply Before the 12 October Deadline

Still no admission and you are tired of hearing "just wait"? Then listen well, because AE-FUNAI in Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, has a door that is still open.

The school's own website says its supplementary admission registration was extended to 12 October 2026. That is a few days from today, so this one is not for next week.

What supplementary admission means

A supplementary exercise is a second chance the school opens after the main screening to fill seats that are still empty. It is real admission, not a side door. The catch is that the time is short and the rules are firm.

For AE-FUNAI, reports from admission news sites say you needed a minimum UTME score of 180 and a processing fee of ₦2,000. Please confirm both on funai.edu.ng, because the school's own notice is the one that counts.

How to apply on the school website

You do not need an agent for this, and you should not pay one. Do it yourself with your phone or laptop.

  1. Go to funai.edu.ng and look for the Prospective Students section.
  2. Open the supplementary admission screening application.
  3. Fill in your UTME details and pay the processing fee on the official page.
  4. Print your examination notification slip from the website and keep it safe.

On the day of screening, bring the printed slip, your original UTME result slip showing your photograph and score, and a pen or pencil. Nothing more is needed to get into the hall, but do not come late.

The JAMB side: change your choice before the school's cut-off

If AE-FUNAI was not your first choice, you may need to update your choice of institution on JAMB. Reports for this exercise mentioned a 17 September date for JAMB changes.

That date is already behind us, so read the school's current notice before you spend money. If you need to move schools, our guide on how to change course or institution on JAMB explains the steps and the charges.

One rule you must accept before you apply

AE-FUNAI said that anyone admitted through the supplementary exercise cannot ask for a change of course later. So pick a course you can live with for four or five years. Do not apply for Medicine because it sounds nice if your score cannot support it.

You can check what your score may carry using the cut-off mark checker and the JAMB score calculator. If you want to see all your late options at once, read our guide on late admission routes.

After screening, watch your JAMB profile

Passing the school's screening does not finish the job. The school still has to send your name to JAMB, and you must accept the offer on CAPS.

If you do not know how to do that, read how to check and accept admission on the JAMB CAPS portal. Remember that a CAPS offer expires if you leave it, as we explained in the four-week acceptance guide.

Make sure your O'Level result is also uploaded and correct on CAPS. If that is where you are stuck, use our steps for NECO or WAEC.

Mistakes that cost people this admission

Every year some people lose a place they could have had. Avoid these.

  • Waiting until the last day, when the website is slow and payment fails.
  • Paying through a random person's account instead of the school's payment page.
  • Choosing a course far above your score.
  • Forgetting to print the examination slip.

These mistakes are easy to avoid when you know about them. Go through the list one more time before you pay or submit anything.

A few careful minutes now are worth more than a long regret later.

Is AE-FUNAI worth it?

It is a federal university, so tuition is low compared with private schools, though you will still pay school charges and cover your living costs. The campus is in Ikwo, outside Abakaliki, so plan for transport and accommodation early.

If you cannot make it this year, the deadline for other schools is still open, so look at your options without five credits or private universities that close on 30 November.

A quick test before you pay and apply

Supplementary exercises move fast, and it is easy to pay first and think later. Ask yourself these questions before you spend a naira.

  • Would I be happy to study this course for the full programme, knowing I cannot ask to change it later?
  • Can I handle the distance to Ikwo and the cost of staying there?
  • Do I have my O'Level and JAMB documents ready today?
  • Have I read the school's own notice, and not only a blog about it?

If you can say yes to all four, apply before the deadline on the school's website. If you hesitate on any of them, spend a day finding out, because a wrong choice here is hard to undo.

In short

AE-FUNAI's supplementary window is real, but it is short and the rules are strict. Apply only through funai.edu.ng, keep your examination slip, and expect to follow up on JAMB CAPS afterwards.

If the timing or the course does not work for you, there are other routes in our guide on late admission options, and you still have time to look at private universities and polytechnics.
