1. Primary sources first
For information about JAMB, WAEC, NECO, NUC, NELFUND, NYSC or a specific school, we rely on the institution's own official website, portal or published notice. We link to the specific official page wherever one exists, and we do not cite another education blog when the original source is available.
2. What we never invent
We do not publish deadlines, fees, cut-off marks, requirements or admission rules that we cannot trace to an official source. If an official figure has not been announced, the article says so instead of guessing.
3. How articles are checked
- Facts, dates and figures are compared with the official source before publication.
- Step-by-step guides describe the official process; we tell you where to confirm the latest details.
- Articles that an editor has verified show a Fact-checked badge with the verification date.
- Sources are listed at the bottom of an article only when they have been assigned to that specific article. An article without a Sources section has not yet had its sources added; we never imply that an organisation was a source unless it actually was.
4. Dates: published vs. last updated
Every article shows when it was published. A "Last updated" date appears only when an editor has materially changed the facts, dates, fees or steps in it. We do not change the date for cosmetic edits.
5. Time-sensitive information
Admission deadlines, cut-off marks, registration windows and timetables change. For these pages we update the existing article each academic cycle instead of publishing competing versions, and we encourage you to confirm important dates on the official website.
6. Found a mistake?
Tell us through the contact page and include the article link and, if possible, the official source. Our process for fixing errors is in the Corrections Policy, and our wider standards are in the Editorial Policy.
