What UNIBEN did this session
UNIBEN ran its 2026/2027 screening as a computer-based test at the Ugbowo campus from Monday 27 July to Saturday 1 August.
Candidates were told to go back online from 17 July to see their own screening day, venue and time, since not everybody wrote on the same day.
After screening, reports from admission news sites said UNIBEN started uploading admitted candidates on JAMB CAPS in mid August. Treat those reports with care, because we could not find the list on UNIBEN's own website.
The only way to be sure is to check your own profile, which we show you below.
How to check your UNIBEN admission
There are two places to look, and you should check both. A name can show on one before it shows on the other.
- Open efacility.jamb.gov.ng, log in, click Check Admission Status, pick your exam year, and type your registration number.
- Open the UNIBEN applicant portal through the official school website, uniben.edu, and log in with the details you used for screening.
If you see "Admitted", do not run around telling people before you accept. Go to CAPS and accept the offer, because an offer you ignore can be taken away.
Our guide on how to check and accept admission on the JAMB CAPS portal shows every click.
Understanding batches so you do not panic
Schools like UNIBEN rarely release everyone at once. The first list normally carries candidates with the strongest scores.
Later lists pick up people from catchment areas and others who qualify after the top group has confirmed their places. A last supplementary list fills seats that remain empty.
So if your name is not on the first list, it does not mean you failed. It may only mean the school has not reached your turn. Keep checking CAPS every two or three days, and not every ten minutes.
Your score and your course are not the same thing
Many people hear "UNIBEN cut-off" and assume one number works for every course. It does not.
Medicine and Law ask for a very high aggregate, while some courses accept lower scores. The general JAMB floor is 150 for universities, but UNIBEN decides the real number for each course.
Use our cut-off mark checker and the JAMB aggregate calculator to see how you compare. If you got admitted into a course you did not choose, read about JAMB CAPS transfer approval before you accept anything.
After the "Admitted" message
Once you accept on CAPS, UNIBEN will ask you to complete a few steps. This normally includes paying the school's acceptance fee on the official payment platform and uploading your documents for clearance.
Amounts change every year, so confirm the exact figure on the school's own notice and not from a blog.
Keep these ready: O'Level result, birth certificate or age declaration, local government letter, passport photographs and your JAMB result slip. We listed each one in our guide on documents for screening and verification.
Why your name may not show yet
A few things block people even when their scores are fine. Check each one before you decide something is wrong.
- Your O'Level result was never uploaded on CAPS. Use our steps for NECO or WAEC.
- UNIBEN was not your first choice on your JAMB record.
- You missed one of the school's screening steps.
- The batch that carries your name has not been released.
A missing name can be stressful, but it often has a simple reason. Work through the list calmly before you assume the worst.
If everything is fine on your side, then the batch has probably not been released. Keep checking at a calm pace.
If UNIBEN does not admit you
JAMB's closing date for public universities is 31 October, and CAPS was offline from 24 to 28 September, so the school lost some working days.
If November is close and you still have nothing, read our guide on late admission options that still work. You can also look at how to change your institution on JAMB.
One last warning. Nobody can sell you a UNIBEN admission. Anyone asking you to pay into a personal account is a fraudster, so use only the school's official payment page.
Money and paperwork to arrange before the offer comes
Many families lose days after an offer appears because nobody planned for the next step. You can prepare now, even before you see your name.
Talk with your parents or guardians about how the acceptance fee, school fees and accommodation will be paid. Ask the school's official portal for the current fee schedule and write down the figures with the date.
Make copies of your documents and save scans on your phone and email. Also decide where you will live, because hostel space in popular schools is not guaranteed and rooms outside campus take time to find.
None of this costs money today, but it can save you from paying late fees or accepting the first place an agent offers you.
Final thoughts on UNIBEN
UNIBEN releases admission in stages, and reports about lists are not the same as your own CAPS profile. Check both the JAMB portal and the school's applicant portal, accept quickly if admitted, and keep your documents ready.
If your name does not show, do not sit still. Read our guide on late admission options that work and make a plan before the public university deadline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about this guide
1Is the UNIBEN admission list out?
Admission news sites reported the first list in mid August, but the only sure check is your own JAMB CAPS profile and the UNIBEN applicant portal. Do not trust names sent on WhatsApp.
2How do I check my UNIBEN admission status?
Log in at efacility.jamb.gov.ng and open Check Admission Status. Then log in to the UNIBEN applicant portal on the school website with your screening details.
3When did UNIBEN hold its 2026/2027 post-UTME screening?
The screening ran as a CBT at the Ugbowo campus from 27 July to 1 August 2026, and candidates checked their personal day and venue online.
4Does UNIBEN release admission in batches?
Yes. Schools like UNIBEN release the strongest candidates first, then later lists for others, and a supplementary list for empty seats. Missing the first list does not mean you are out.
5Do I need to pay an acceptance fee after UNIBEN admits me?
After you accept on CAPS, the school usually asks for an acceptance fee through its official payment platform. The amount changes yearly, so confirm it on UNIBEN's own notice.
6What if I am not admitted before the 31 October deadline?
Look at supplementary lists, a change of institution on JAMB, private universities and polytechnics, which close later. Our late admission guide explains each route.
